The Spark Sailing Canoe is truly unlike any other. It has been designed, from the start, to be faster, lighter, and more stable.
It is the first sailing canoe designed to accommodate the skimming disc outriggers. The offset dagger case allows ample space to sleep onboard. The newly developed diamond lug sail provides more power and less drag than other rigs and it is easily reefed. 2 Seating options are available: a forward facing chair, or a hiking plank (shown).

The Spark Sailing Canoe
has been designed from scratch to be fast, light, and easy to make.
It is designed to accommodate the skimming disc outriggers (plans sold separately).
Much thought has been placed on helm balance, weight distribution, stability, ease of use and speed potential.
Features:
• Single chine construction using 6mm and 12mm marine ply with minimal timber
• Compatibility with skimming disc outriggers (or other 3rd party outriggers)
• A new 62 SF sail design called the diamond lug; a flat-topped, reefable balanced lug sail with luff pocket.
• A pivoting rudder and offset, push pull tiller
• Options to sit facing forward on a comfortable folding chair or to sit sideways on a hiking plank when more righting moment is needed
• A spacious, clutter-free cockpit 27.5” wide x 94” long
• An offset dagger case provides lots of power (more than a leeboard)
• The pivoting rudder can be lowered with a line from the cockpit
• Buoyancy chambers in the bow and stern make the boat unsinkable
• The reflex stern lowers hull drag allowing speeds of 8 knots or more going into the wind and even faster downwind
